Happy Friday the 13th Paint Party Friday Friends!
I for one do not have a negative superstition about Friday the 13th, I've always considered it a rather lucky day instead of the ominous cursed day that is popular.
So What's happening in my Studio this week? Willie the Westy, another of my Torn Paper Pet Portrait commissions is just about completed. Here is my torn paper pet portrait next to his photograph.

I really adore creating these pet portraits. I am definitely a dog lover (I have 4) but I think it would be so much fun if someone would commission a portrait of their cat!
Well I'm off to make the rounds to see what you all are creating this wonderful Friday! Thank you so much for stopping by!
I didn't get around to everyone last week as I came down with a terrible ear infection. I thought that was a kid thing but wowsa what a doozy! I finally gave in and went to the doc yesterday after every home remedy failed. I almost never get sick so I am a reluctant patient. Hopefully another day or two and I'll be back to 100% I do feel good enough to make the rounds this week though!
I'm planning a blog candy giveaway for February so stay tuned!
Thanks as always to the most talented Kristin and Eva for my favorite blog event of the week! Be sure to stop by the Paint Party Friday Blog and see what everyone else is up to!
1:49pm (PST) update the client just stopped by and loves Willie and his Canvas....YAY! Now I can finish him up.

Willie looks fantastic! You've given him a great michievous look in his eyes!
Glad to hear you are feeling better from your ear infection. I know what you mean about cats - out of all the pet portraits I've done only 1 has been a cat so far!
Amazing work! I am sure your client will adore the portrait. I love painting all animals too, dogs and horses are favorites! :-)

This is looking great! i hope you'll post it with the background. It will be fun to see the finished piece.
What a wonderful job you did! I don't know what it is about cat people, of which I am one. I have always had cats except when I was very young and living at home. We had a couple of dogs, but then my mother switched to cats. Then when I was first married we had a German Shepard, but next time around we got a Manx cat and I have never had a dog since. I have painted cats for other people, but I have never had the desire to have a painting of my own cat. I will paint the big cats and consider the tiger as my alter ego...I painted a large painting of a tiger and have it in my guest room. Now I feel weird!
Glad you're feeling a little better.
Looking so forward to your February blog candy giveaway! Woo-hoo!
