Hang On! |
Welcome Sunday Sketchers from Blue Chair Diary!
Well you can probably tell I've been infatuated with the ordinary pencil lately. I recently had the opportunity to participate in a themed postcard swap over at Atc's for All. The cards featured the style of Tracy V. Moore, an edgy journal artist up in Seattle. My blog entry on September 16th is a work in progress from that swap. Anyway, I had such a delicious time sketching, that I haven't put my pencil down yet to go back to my paints and other textural mediums.
I don't know that raccoon ever truly have to hold on like this little fellow is doing. They are usually such nimble beast but as his face began to develop, he looked like a worried little fella that needed to grip onto to something.
What else has been on my mind this week? Tap Floors. My Son has taken up tap dancing and needs a place to practice. Cement ruins tap shoes and I don't want the floors in the house to get scratched up so I'm thinking about creating a portable tap floor for him. I think I just might have some leftover cork flooring from the time we did the kitchen. p.s. don't put cork flooring in your kitchen!!
Oh Special Post Alert-- Found out about Unicorns vs. Zombies birthday party here's a button and a link!

cute job on the raccoon, they're nice in sketches. What's wrong with cork in the kitchen, it sounds nice?
I love pencil too! Your little guy is very cute!
Kudos to your son for learning tap.
Nice to meet you through Sunday Sketches. I like your raccoon sketch....cute guy - we had some living in one of the trees on our property...fascinating creatures.
good luck with the tap dancing.
Very very cute Racoon! Are you also in the Twenty Minute challenge for drawing and painting? http://twentyminutechallenge.blogspot.com I believe it is. (or link on my side bar.)
thanks for visiting my blog today!!!
Thanks for stopping by and saying Hi everyone! @Christine Cork doesn't hold up to water, the fridge leaked a week after we put in the floor and no more new floor!
wow! love your raccoon sketch! Rocky Raccoon ~ love him! ~ thanks for coming by Share the Creative Journey also ~ so glad to 'meet you' ~ namaste, Carol ^_^
Dead Fred is one of the most adorable zombies I've seen, even if he can't accept that he is one of the um... goners.
cute raccoon sketch. thanks for your visit.
Oh poor Fred!! I think we are all bringing out the softer side of the zombie...so far I think we are crushing Team Unicorn! :)
Oh what an adorable raccoon!
Love Fred the Zombie but Unicorns still rule. :)
Fred's a cutie for sure but what NatashaMay said... Unicorns still rule! (Does cork make enough sound for tap dancing???)
Good Question Wabbit! I'm sure your are right, natural cork would not create enough tap noise! The flooring I have has some type of hard coating on it that I think/hope might register the tap sounds. We'll have to do a test on a piece before I put it together.
Oh, he's adorable! Er, the raccoon I mean not Fred, LOL.
welcome to Sunday Sketches! LOVE your raccoon. Absolutely stunning. As for zombies....can you please keep them over there?! :D hee hee
