Paint Party Friday November 9th 2012

I swear this year is flying by at the speed of light!

I just adore Paint Party Friday and it seems like it sneaks up so quickly each week!

This Friday I'm deep in a Chigirie (Torn Paper) Pet Portrait Commission but not ready to show photos just yet except for this one of the awesome paper I am using to create Ollie's (my client's Golden Doodle) unruly fur!

Next week I should have pictures of Ollie to share with you all.

In between  waiting times for layers of paper and drying gel medium, I created this minimalist blue bunny painting because I've had a thing for bunnies lately.

Also, I'm not sure if I shared this torn paper portrait of Marilyn I'm working on.  I've only done her eyes, nose and lips in torn paper so far but she's my first torn paper person portrait (versus animals which I do loads of)  and I'm excited that I was able to capture her eyes and lips in torn paper.

I won't be able to get back to working on her till January because I had  6 Doggy and 3 Kitty pet portrait commissions come in today...HOLY SMOKES!  I'm overwhelmed with excitement that I've become so busy with my art commissions.  I hope my eyes hold up to the task!  They are such an adorable bunch of animals, I can't wait to share them all with you over the next few months!

Thanks so much for stopping by for Paint Party Friday and thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting such a fabulous hop!  I can't wait to see what you are creating this week!

Oh I like all the torn paper work you do. I can't wait to see more of ollie!

I am just a beginner in painting -sometimes since I developed Art Journaling I try it -- and I adore Mixed Media Portraits .. I began to use torn bookpages in my faces....
but I always use to much paint over the torm little pieces, so it is not real good to see at the end.. have to practise practise practise..LOL!
your style is great!
I became follower!
Happy PPF!

I absolutely love Marilyn. She has always been one of my favs and you are doing a great job - congrats on the commissions - I tried to do a torn paper portrait of my Boston Terrier but didn't like the results. I think I need to tackle it again. Happy PPF

Wow! You are an amazing artist, I just admire your style so much. I absolutely love the torn paper work. I see all of the dogs in the side bar and they are wonderful. That paper is just perfect for fur. I had a dog like that when I was a kid so I'm partial to scruffy fur!

Thanks for visiting my blog, have a great weekend!
