November 30, 2012 Paint Party Friday - Ollie

It's kind of hard to believe that it's the last day of November already.  I can't really say the month flew by because it didn't for me.  My hubby was in Brazil for the entire month and it made the days seem ever so long to have him gone.

The best part of the month though was working on my current pet portrait commission Ollie.  I showed you a sneak peek of the fabulous, fibrous paper I found to create him with and my wonderful client was okay with me posting early pictures of the project here to share with you all, she's a fellow PPF-er.

Here he is.  He's about 90% complete, he still needs some more straggly chin fur and I'm not finished shading his eye wells yet but he is coming along quite nicely.  The very, very best part though, of my whole month was my clients response

absolutely fricking AMAZING!!!!! I love him!!!!!!!!!!! Robin he is magnificent! super hugs, thanks & "admiration"

Now I don't know about you but for me, as an artist, I live for this kind of response.  I've re-read the email a half a dozen times and walk away with a big smile every time. It was worth all of the extra hours upon hours I've spent fussing to get him just right.

.

Here are 3 paintings I sold over the Holiday weekend, I guess it was a popular weekend for horses!

Tang Dynasty Pottery Horse Painting 12 X 16 Acrylic and Ink

Piaso's Storm 18 X 24 Acrylic and Ink

Snowy 12 X 12 Mixed Media
I can't wait to see what you all have been creating this week! Happy PPF!  Thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting this fabulous hop over at Paint Party Friday!  Thanks to you all for stopping by and checking out what I've been up to!

Robin, you are an incredibly gifted artist! Your pet portraits are so realistic, I feel like I want to reach out and pet them! You've captured the sweetness of Ollie in his eyes, and his scraggly fur is beautiful. Masterful work! Hugs, Terri
