Paint Party Friday March 22, 2010

Wow this week went by in a blink!

I completed this Mixed Media Watercolor "All Who Wander" after reading a copy of Cloth, Paper, Scissors the other day.  They suggested using Ribbons and yarn with watercolor.  The yarn actually goes through the painting to the other side.  I wanted to use simple shapes and symmetry in this piece and focus on the colors and textures and to share the message All Who Wander....I didn't finish the quote hoping to let the viewer decide if they want to be lost or not...LOL.

11 X 14 Mixed Media Watercolor "All Who Wander"

The small text on the mountains reads  "As if the wind blew many ways, Among the mountains."

I also created this Etsy treasury for a challenge, stop by and take a peek your views could help me win the key spot in the next treasury challenge.

I call the treasury "Among the Trees"

I hope you all enjoy your weekly Paint Party Friday Pilgrimage!  I know I look forward to this weekly virtual gallery walk.  Thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting this wonderful weekly event.

Very nice! I haven't read Cloth, Paper, Scissors yet, but it's on my list. I love the quote you used in this piece. A bit of mystery is always good, I think.

Love it all. The color in the sky is amazing as are the white capped mountains. Great title. Happy PPF!

I really like the way the ribbon and the yarn suggest foliage and (to me, anyway) a road.
